Maths problems?[edit]

Both Wilkinson's and Jones' points tally don't quite add up, anyone have correct figures? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.147.154.138 (talk) 10:51, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well spotted, in their articles different figures are mentioned. --Maarten1963 22:35, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More maths problems![edit]

12/02/2011: According to the RFU player profile, Wilkinson had 1114 points before the Italy game. He then went on to score 6 points taking him to 1120. I will amend the page to cite this as a source: http://www.rfu.com/SquadsAndPlayers/EnglandElite/JonnyWilkinson.aspx —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.152.42.75 (talk) 16:23, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eligibility for list[edit]

Given that 500 points is the criterion for this list, should it not include Hugo Porta? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.204.68.210 (talk) 11:51, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing that out mate. Can't believe we missed him. Jevansen (talk) 06:45, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There are multiple sources for his cap and points record, all of them differ. Scrum (60 - 592 though there are at least eleven games against inofficial sides (XVs)), Hall of Fame (42 - 408) or UAR (65 - 593). --Karmacomatic (talk) 10:30, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merger[edit]

This has significant overlap with List of top scoring international rugby union players and the two should be brought together. violet/riga [talk] 09:29, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Very few players appear on both lists, I don't see the point of the merger. They are different lists and the link at the bottom of eac page is enough in my opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.8.96.230 (talk) 16:27, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Support All of the entries on this list appear at List of top scoring international rugby union players so no point in maintaining the same information in two places. noq (talk) 16:48, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merging Tiers[edit]

Surely all three tiers should be merged in this list? i.e. Nicky Little deserves to be ranked ahead of Felipe Conteponi on a single list rather than having his achievements lessoned because he played for a tier two team.

I get that in the case of Cypress holding the world record for longest winning streak in mens international rugby; that it needs to be noted that they aren't a tier one team - because if they got to play tier one teams they would not have achieved that record. Their achievement is secondary to the All Blacks & South Africa's lower win streak of 17 matches.

But that reasoning doesn't apply here - Nicky Little has achieved those points against all comers, and doesn't deserve to be relegated to a secondary list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 111.69.26.201 (talk) 04:19, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, the division makes this page less useful. AlecStewart (talk) 15:30, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Handré Pollard[edit]

Hello, in the article Handré is cited as author of 601 points, but ESPN Scrum says 580 (see here). regards. Blackcat 19:23, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Florin Vlaicu maths problem[edit]

Florin Vlaicus tallies don’t add up. They add to 1037 instead of 1030. Anyone know the correct numbers. FredABlink (talk) 18:57, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
