Article improvements

Improved Lead-in and added descriptions and sources for most entries. Descriptions are from lead-in for listed articles. List should now be compliant with WP:LISTS. Some clean-up is needed to remove redundant wikilinks.--Mike Cline (talk) 16:12, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

  • The descriptions need to focus more on the management consultancy aspect of the company, and to have some the claims cited. Polarpanda (talk) 15:25, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
  • The descriptions do not belong in this list, that is what the individual company articles are for. To my knowledge, this is the only "list" I have seen on Wikipedia with this amount of detail for each entry. WuhWuzDat 22:17, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

How do you add your firm to the list?

Allawos & Company www.allawosandcompany.com

Thank you, — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.83.19.166 (talk) 03:51, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

I believe Wipro is doing great consulting work so https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wipro should also be added to the list. Harioa (talk) 17:56, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

As a creator of the list, I vote to keep it.

I don't see any reason to delete the list. It nicely covers the popular area of management consulting, introduces new names in the industry, and has decent readership (some 10,000 clicks a month).

As a creator of the list, I vote to keep it.

List structure

Several comments on the AfD have mentioned the need for this article to be cleaned up; while this is secondary to the AfD discussion on if the article should even exist, it doesn't hurt to start the discussion now.

To me, the list can best be served by converting it to a wiki-table; but then a question remains as to what column labels should exist - ie: what are the notable differentiating elements that should be tracked within the table as part of the inclusion criteria for each entry. I would like to see what others feel should be included. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 23:34, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

People have tables when comparing similar items like MP3 players: size, price, inputs, etc. There is no objective way to compare management consulting firms, although if someone wants to provide a sample I would be happy to reconsider. At the AfD I suggested: location, number of offices, number of staff, year established. However, that's not really helpful and we would be inventing an artificial way of comparing firms. The solution is to simply remove all the text and make it a simple list of links to existing articles. Johnuniq (talk) 05:41, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
How about just Name, Located In, perhaps if the company has some specialization that could be noted? Then again I suppose that might just result in essentially the situation we have now. OSbornarfcontributionatoration 05:53, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
The general consensus seems to be that the description text must go, with no objections, I will remove it. OSbornarfcontributionatoration 22:57, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Qualpro

Although they are a smaller consulting firm, can we add QualPro to this list? I would like to address the Orphan tag on their page. I'm not sure if the list is intended to be as comprehensive as possible or only include the largest and most notable firms. CorporateM (Talk) 21:13, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

The only hard requirement is the existence of an article on the company; I've added it to this list. Kuru (talk) 01:24, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Adding a company to the list of Management Consulting firms: I would like to have Solving Efeso added to the list of Management Consulting companies. What are the criteria and what do I need to provide to be included in the listing?

Thanks in advance for your response, Wiebe de Vries Group Marketing and Communications Manager wiebe.devries@solvingefeso.com WiebedeVries62 (talk) 09:35, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

The inclusion criteria is an article on the English Wikipedia. Please note, however, that you have a clear conflict of interest so should not create that article yourself. You could ask at requested articles but, in all honesty, it is unlikely that a volunteer would choose to write about your company. - Arjayay (talk) 10:15, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

Marakon is a strategy consulting firm with offices in London, New York, Chicago and Boston that was acquired by CRA a few years ago but continues to operate independently - see http://marakon.com/#&panel1-1

Would like to propose the addition of Pivotal Resources to this list

Hi, I would like to propose consideration of the addition of Pivotal Resources to this list.

Pivotal Resources, founded in 1993, is actually one of the pioneering leaders in process improvement- deploying Six Sigma within many notable organizations including GE. The Six Sigma Way was named by Forbes as one of the 10 Most Influential Management titles of the last 20 years.

Add UPC & Associates to the List of Management consulting firms. website url: http://upcassociates.com.au. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Richeedelima (talkcontribs) 01:29, November 19, 2016 (UTC)

Not done: There is a currently an editorial consensus to only include firms on this list which already have existing Wikipedia articles. Unfortunately, since UPC & Associates does not currently have its own stand-alone Wikipedia article, I cannot add it to this list. We have this requirement because is because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a directory, so we have different standards for inclusion. Regards, Mz7 (talk) 03:22, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

No idea; the breakout was added by an IP without comment. I would recommend dropping the distinction unless a functional definition or a direct source can be found. Kuru talk 23:17, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Added the word "Partial" to the heading. There are several notable firms, such as Hitachi Consulting, Boston Consulting Group, CSC, etc. which are missing. I don't have time to track all of them down to add to the list. Also the categories are ambiguous - I would also vote for dropping the breakout altogether unless someone can come up with a definition for what's considered "First Tier", "Second Tier", etc.--Gordon Jones (talk) 21:41, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Hello,

I believe that EY-Parthenon should be added to this list in addition to the existing Ernst & Young page. It has its own separate page and would also be analogous to Monitor Deloitte and Strategy& being listed. 24.185.162.173 (talk) 16:43, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
