Talk:List of minor characters in Dilbert

There seems to be some variation in the formatting of the pictures, such that I can see the thumbnail of Bob, but none of the others.

Missing Pictures[edit]

I have added 15 images to this article page, so far, although i have no access to the 2 other characters.

  • Ishan - cannot find, a date would be very helpful
  • Techno Bill - Have no archive pictures of him

I have just recently added the picture of the baby.

I'm suggesting these two articles be merged since they cover the same topic. I'm suggesting that Dilbert Bit Characters be merged into this article as this article is linked to from many pages, while Dilbert Bit Characters has no articles linking to it. -- Hawaiian717 17:31, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I mean seriously folks both pages have minor characters but different ones per page whoever made the more recent one obviously didn't check for similar items. -- Werewere 5:54 PM, 19 june 2006

Finally merged the two. --Hawaiian717 01:32, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What constitutes a minor character?[edit]

I know of a lot of characters that have existed for only one gag -- do they count?

Examples include the golf guy (Hey big guy, do you like golf?), the laughing woman (haha computers are funny!), etc Piepants 16:05, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Piepants[reply]

Carol[edit]

I've decided to move Carol to a "main" character with her own article. She appears in more strips than Bob the Dinosaur, Ratbert, or Dilmom, and sometimes strips revolve solely around her (e.g., the promotion to "Director of First Impressions" storyline that ran for a whole week with no other main characters besides her).

I think Carol would appreciate it. I think it's time she got her due.  ;) -- Musiclover 04:34, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Lh.jpg[edit]

Image:Lh.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"Known as Dilmom" (or "Mombert"): Not for the last seven years, it seems.[edit]

As I mentioned on the Dilbert (character) Talk page, I've been reading Dilbert backwards (that is, all of 2008 going forwards, all of 2007 forwards, all of 2006, etc.) and nowhere between 2001 and 2008 has she been referred to as "Dilmom" or "Mombert". If this is a nickname bestowed upon her by fans, or used only in the TV series, that needs to be made clear. If a name hasn't been used for seven years, can you say she is "also known as"? At what point does it become obsolete? The reference to "Dilmom" or "Mombert" may belong in some statement, but for now I've just removed it. --63.25.19.112 (talk) 17:33, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nowhere between 2001 and 2008? Technically, that's wrong. Dig out your copy of "Try Rebooting Yourself" and read the third comic on page 99, from 04-12-2006. Just as Catbert has a title header that reads "Catbert: Evil Director of Human Resources", she has one too, that says "Dilmom". Bttfvgo (talk) 01:09, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the strip: [1] Bttfvgo (talk) 18:16, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think Scott Adams even stated once in a DNRC newsletter that "Dilmom" + "Dadbert" = "Dilbert" I'll find the link... Bttfvgo (talk) 18:18, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ishan[edit]

Can anyone provide a link to a date for Ishan? Does he even exist? Was he in the animated series, or the strips? Bttfvgo (talk) 18:14, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pointy-Haired Boss's boss[edit]

I can't find a description PHB's boss. There is a reference to him under Cyrus the Virus, "until he is eliminated and the old boss is promoted back.", but I can't find the desciption of him. If there is a description, the Cyrus reference should link to it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.131.125.50 (talk) 14:34, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
