List inclusion[edit]

Hello. Re Wikipedia "List Of Mints"

This list is in need of revising.

LIST OF MINTS

1. The "List Of Mints" should be defined - a "mint" is a manufacturing FACILITY that produces coins, medals, etc. 2. "Monetary Authority" is simply a legal term indicating that a government is guaranteeing the legal tender status

     of coins and currency bearing the name of the issuing country. These items are typically manufactured outside the
     country denoted on them.

3. "Central Bank" or "Reserve Bank" - same as #2 above.

With these definitions stated, the "List Of Mints" SHOULD ONLY INCLUDE ACTUAL MINTING FACILITIES. If a list of "Monetary Authorities" is desired, it should be a SEPARATE listing.

Within the current "List Of Mints", there are several discrepancies;

1. Bermuda; There is no mint facility in Bermuda. 2. Canada; Two mint facilities - Ottawa, Winnipeg 3. Cayman Islands; No mint in Cayman Islands 4. China; Four mints in China - Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Shenyang 5. Costa Rica; No currently operating mint - San Jose mint no longer operational. 6. Cyprus; No mint operating in Cyprus 7. Fiji; No mint facility 8. Lesotho; No mint facility. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Esnible (talkcontribs) 16:38, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
