Hurriyet[edit]

According to Hurriyet's own Wikipedia page their circulation does not even qualify to be a part of the top 100 yet they are listed among the top 10. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.235.227.164 (talk) 07:48, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Daily papers only?[edit]

Seems a little off to include weeklies like News of the World in the same list with dailies. As a weekly it makes more sense to compare it to weekly news magazines and the like.--76.111.6.71 (talk) 04:32, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Updating Numbers[edit]

I have with me a physical copy of the latest WAN numbers. I will be updatingthe same. Unfortunately I can't find an online reference to the same. ChiragPatnaik (talk) 15:52, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There should be an update, because some of the data are quite old. Sebbe xy (talk) 19:16, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Distortion[edit]

The Japanese papers are first only because they count each of their multiple daily editions as circulation. What do people think of a note about this sort of thing in general? --Ben Applegate (talk) 17:10, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

IMP : Wrong list[edit]

The list provided in this section is very different from the info provided in this link Newspaper circulation as in india according to the later link the largest newspapers to be Dainik Jagran (with 55.7 million readers) which is far ahead from The Times of India shown up in the list.--59.164.13.86 (talk) 15:58, 31 August 2009 (UTC). Recently, I have updated the table showing circulation numbers for respective newspaper. The figures given in the table for the dainik jagran and times of india, widely circulated all over india, are far less than the actual.[reply]

rename[edit]

There should be "daily" inside the titel.

Newspaper and Professionalism[edit]

I have added sentence as below - "It is relevant to note an anomaly here that circulation alone cannot be considered as parameter of quality of newspaper. Impartial, professional newspapers may also have smaller circulations based on geography, reader class and language" Justification I have is - there can be a newspaper in higher circulation because of its celebrity character or other parameters which are - historical, language, reader class etc. People who visit this Wiki page do so as they generally believe that - Majority is correct - so they want to see best newspapers in the world. Thus, it is necessory to clarify that there are newspapers with lesser circulation and better quality - parameters which cannot be quantify or ranked.

People's Daily[edit]

People's Daily, the major mouthpiece of the Chinese Communisty Party, has a circulation of 3 to 4 million mainly due to forced subscriptions. Why is it not on the list? Zipswich (talk) 02:44, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Eenadu[edit]

Eenadu is currently 10th on this list, but it's only given as 4th on the List of newspapers in India by circulation. If you look at the reference for that article, you find this: http://eenaduinfo.com/about.htm - that claims a figure of 1.7m. I'm editing Eenadu down the list accordingly but it should be noted that this isn't the 2008 figure that the rest of the article uses.

  • Scratch that - it wouldn't actually work in the context of the references. Instead I'm tagging the page as needing work as I think there are other inconsistencies.

Should a "Newspaper Format" Category be Added to the Table?[edit]

I was wondering whether it might be useful and applicable to users for there to be an additional [newspaper format]] column included in the table of the article so that one can see across different global publications the various styles in which each paper is printed. By this I mean whether a certain paper is, say formatted as a Broadsheet, a Berliner, or Tabloid, etc. Please discuss. Thanks! Mrzubrow (talk) 16:43, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WAN-IFRA update[edit]

I have updated the list with WAN-IFRA: World Press Trends 2010 - Europe, as i think that WAN-IFRA is trustworthy source. Feel free to add number from newer and/or global editions, unfortunately i have access only to mentioned edition (and some even older). --Jklamo (talk) 01:45, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Updated from WAN-IFRA: World Press Trends 2009. --Jklamo (talk) 14:39, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Internet?[edit]

How about also adding an "internet hits" column? That's just as important nowadays as physical, paper circulation. (Which might also counter the Japanese papers' fudged stats.) BigSteve (talk) 17:24, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Update template[edit]

I've added an update template to make sure people are aware how out of date the article is, it still includes News of the World. --Mrjohncummings (talk) 11:36, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am removing the template, as age of information is clearly stated (thus there is no factual accuracy) and newer numbers are not available. If you have some more fresh, please share your sources (in that case update template can make sense). --Jklamo (talk) 10:51, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorting Error[edit]

I really don't know what to do with it, but when you attempt to sort by rank or number or circulation, it puts it in an odd order (1, 10, 11 ... 19, 2 ...). Maybe they're stored as strings or something? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.49.1.3 (talk) 22:23, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
