Page moves and removal of content[edit]

@BrandonALF: I'd like to request your reasoning for not only the page moves that happened here but also your reasoning for the decision to split the list so early. The article wasn't too long and lists can also provide a brief description of the content in the page directed. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk • contribs) 03:07, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jd22292:This page is in great need of a new name as the current name fails to refect the content in the page, the name I'm suggesting is List of Other Notable Roads in Toronto. -- ★BrandonALF★ talk edits 03:11, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I second the motion, except not in title case. "List of notable roads in Toronto" would be my choice of article name. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 03:14, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Johnny Au's proposal. More fitting title in this case. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk • contribs) 03:18, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

We generally do not use "notable" in article titles. Can we suggest a more suitable title? Ajf773 (talk) 07:59, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. We don't have List of notable people from Toronto; we have List of people from Toronto. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 13:56, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Therefore I suggested we do a technical move back to List of roads in Toronto. The other article serves as a pointless navigation article, which is already covered in the navbox on each article. Ajf773 (talk) 17:05, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We of roads in Toronto dioesn't work becasue it is beiong used as a link page. And also there are pother articles about roads of toronto, these are just the notale ones. A name suggestion is List of other roads in Toronto, but that's all I got. -- ★BrandonALF★ talk edits 22:09, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Ajf773: I have the page mover right, so I can do it, but I don't think that's a better name. It's hard thinking of a name for this, but maybe notable seems better. Perhaps that's part of why I'm not finding many "...roads in X city" articles. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 00:02, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's very hard to find an appropriate name for this article. "Notable" is just added in tentatively. How about "List of miscellaneous roads in Toronto"? Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 13:42, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
How about "List of roads of importance in Toronto" or "List of important roads in Toronto" --★BrandonALF★ talk edits 21:22, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The issue with this article title is that if people read it, without knowing there are also east-west and north-south road articles, they may think these are the only ones. Out of curiosity, why can't the roads here be incorporated into one of these articles? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 22:22, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That would be a better idea. Each article can have major arterial roads listed first, then collector roads, then local roads. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 03:39, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Johnny Au: That's a great idea! Then we could also include colletor roads onto wikipeaida, which would take a while but I'm defiently support it! --★BrandonALF★ talk edits 00:06, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah exactly, I don’t see a need for this article, the content can be moved to the east-west or north-South articles. This article can be a dab page for those two articles and the diagonal roads. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 00:35, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Vaselineeeeeeee: Yeah so you want me to move the contents then? ★BrandonALF★ talk edits 15:32, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@BrandonALF: I mean, you seem to know what you're doing with these roads, you can set it up how you like with the arterials, collectors, locals. After it's moved I can help making this the disam page if you'd need help with that. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 15:47, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That would be great. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 02:59, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
