Untitled[edit]

Catholics plotted to make Mary Queen of Scots Queen of England in place of Elizabeth. The rebellion failed and Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.50.183.130 (talk) 13:04, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Criteria[edit]

What criteria is being used? Pilgrimage of Grace?? RuthieK 13:15, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand the question, criteria for what? --DelftUser 19:07, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
For deciding that lots of people murdered were not 'executed'. Is the list meant to be exhaustive? RuthieK 19:12, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Again, I have no idea what you are talking about! who are these people who've been "murdered" and by whom? I doubt that anyone can compile an "exhaustive" list of people executed by the Tudors (Henry VIII alone hanged 50,000 for vagrancy), but this list strives to list all those of name and all those who were executed for political reasons (although it is far from complete). --DelftUser 10:17, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notice to new editors[edit]

First, I would like to welcome all Wikipedians who would like to edit this list. Second, I ask everyone who wants to change the list to first discuss it on the talk page; I have limited access to the Internet so you might have to wait a couple of days for an answer. Third, I hope those who would like to bring changes would first contribute several names to the list before suggesting new changes. Thanks to all. --DelftUser 19:00, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coordinating with Category:People_executed_under_the_Tudors[edit]

The wiki Category: People executed under the Tudors, [1], is now much more comprehensive than this separate list grouped by monarch. Does it even make sense to keep this by-monarch list going if there hasn't been a discussion in it for a year?--Ajschorschiii 04:37, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article contains more information, dividing it by reign and giving the year of the execution. Categories are almost always useless. john k (talk) 16:12, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
