Merge[edit]

merge all to this list. Only notable poeple are listed in WP; the word notable is not generally in the name of such lists. Thanks Hmains 04:23, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Exactly the merge should be here. Doctalk 15:36, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Changed the merge tag to reflect this Doctalk 15:48, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • Yeah, I think the merge is a good idea. MdArtLover 00:12, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Comment[edit]

A page similar to this one. List of people from San Francisco, is currently under review as an article for deletion, for reasons which would apply to this article as well. I am conducting an RfC on the talk page of the above-mentioned list to determine whether the concensus agrees on keeping such lists or not. Any and all comments are more than welcome. Criteria[edit]

is there a wikipedia standard for inclusion in such a list? to me ' professional wrestler who spent some time in baltimore' is pretty tenuous, as is, for example, sargent shriver's being born in westminster. westminster isn't baltimore.Toyokuni3 (talk) 00:18, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the liberties this list takes are getting out of hand. the entire state of maryland is not baltimore. jeff halpern? ,born and raised in potomac? my guess is that people from potomac think of themselves more as washingtonians. how long to you have to be in baltimore to get on the list? one day? one week? one academic year? is everybody who went to college in baltimore 'from' baltimore? Toyokuni3 (talk) 00:08, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What about folks from north Anne Arundel County? I sort of think that counts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.179.30.197 (talk) 20:39, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bloomberg[edit]

michael bloomberg was listed as a person from baltimore. he spent his entire childhood and teen years in boston. he only attended college in baltimore. i would NOT consider this as someone "from" baltimore. removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.244.101.118 (talk) 02:15, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are quite right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.129.12.232 (talk) 10:35, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Lewis Armistead[edit]

is someone who apparently never lived in a place, nor achieved their notability there, but is buried there, 'from' that place? personally, i don't think so.Toyokuni3 (talk) 06:12, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
