A page similar to this one. List of people from San Francisco, is currently under review as an article for deletion, for reasons which would apply to this article as well. I am conducting an RfC on the talk page of the above-mentioned list to determine whether the concensus agrees on keeping such lists or not. Any and all comments are more than welcome. Including People From Other Parts of the South Bay[edit]

I have added people from other parts of the South Bay including such places as Los Gatos, Saratoga, Sunnyvale, and Cupertino. The list of notable bands is already the same way. If anyone is against it feel free to remove it.Insomniac186 1:54 PM, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

To help this article have well defined inclusion criteria, i will remove all bands whose articles dont say "from San Jose". A list of notable bands can easily list by city, but regions like "south bay" are harder to define, and such bands should not be here due to the name of the article. i suppose that bands from unincorporated regions near san jose may be allowed, if there are any.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 15:36, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Today I removed additional bands/musicians that have articles that do not say "from San Jose" or "formed in San Jose", many of the artists/bands were from nearby places like Sunnyvale. Jooojay (talk) 21:36, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Criteria for list[edit]

people born in san jose, people who lived in san jose for any significant time. target article must mention this information. high school attendance is acceptable. attendance at a college in san jose doesnt qualify, as the person may not have lived in the city for that time. death in san jose is not enough unless its clear they died at home, as person could have died at a hospital or hospice in the city, but not lived in the city in their later years. The layout of this list was amended today to reflect other articles of similar nature such as List of people from Palo Alto or List of people from San Francisco by listing by occupation and in the text adding how the person is connected to the place (based on any citation or existing article). Removing any redlinks (since they may be not notable). I did not add any significant amount of new people to the list today, but just to clarify I am wondering why attendance in college in San Jose would disqualify someone if they are living for a few years in the city to attend?
