Carl Etelman[edit]

@Cbl62:, I did a search on Newspapers.com for every game of the 1926 Providence season and only found one game where he played (I'll note it says "Eppleman"[1], but I remember reading in one of my references for his article that his surname was frequently misspelled.), do you think he should be on the list or not? As a general matter if either of PFA or PFR says multiple games, I'd typically exclude. But you've done the deeper dig on Etelman. If your research leads you to conclude PFA is in error and he only played in one game, I have no issue with your re-inserting it. Cbl62 (talk) 22:47, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

PFR v. PFA[edit]

@Cbl62: If a player has no page on Pro-Football-Reference, but one on Pro Football Archives listing him as playing in one game (or vice versa), should the person be added to this list? BeanieFan11 (talk) 21:18, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@BeanieFan11: Not 100% clear, but I'd say include them and maybe include a footnote saying that the other database doesn't mention them playing at all. Cbl62 (talk) 21:28, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Start" Field[edit]

Cbl62, is there a way to clarify what the "start" field means. For none amfoot fans, it isn't immediately apparent. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 22:27, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. I'm open to any footnote or other clarifying idea you might have. The "date" column could also probably use some sort of clarifying note. Traveling in Mexico currently with an infection developing in my big toe. Will probably be laid up for the next 24 hours, so I should have time to think about it as well. Criteria for Inclusion[edit]

Cbl62, I assume you will be creating articles for each decade. If you do, there may be an instance where a player played their only game after the new year. As an example, a player during the 2019 NFL season could have played their only game in January 2020. You may want to clarify if the year breakdown is by the actual year played, or by the season played. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 19:12, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I do at least have a comparable list for the 1930s on my "to do" list. They are very time consuming, though, and so I'm not how soon I'll get to it. Cbl62 (talk) 19:35, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
