I won't review it since I'm involved, but I think this needs quite a bit of work before it can be considered. Add a lead section, provide a little background information about each entry (like where is it, which railway, current status etc.), and sorting into order (either alphabetically or by region). I'll try to do some more work on it myself when I have time. Voice of Clam 13:14, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

To mainspace?[edit]

Have I done enough for it to be released into the wild? Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 20:32, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The other question is: do we add details such as the similar page for Wales or exclusively the stations, such as the similar page for England? Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 20:45, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I would add more details though I think it is better to publish it now as that'll attract more viewers and possibly editors who can help build it. Garuda3 (talk) 21:40, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Per Garuda3's comment, I have moved it to mainspace. If people want to cut it down to their 'criteria' - along with the England/Wales pages, they can. Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 07:40, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with all these lists is what is the criteria for inclusion? What level of authority has made the suggestion and how far removed from pipe-dreams are the listed items? It's all very well for a local authority or other body to say "we'd like to (re)open a station at XYZ" but how much further does it have to go before it is a proposed station. Nthep (talk) 21:03, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Without a bit more explanation it just appears as a random list of towns in Scotland. To take up Nthep's point, about a mile from me (in Engand) there is a proposal for a new station that the local authority supports providing someone else is going to pay, but is never actually going to happen. It would, at most, be served by one train an hour and probably less but the area is connected to the main station by 3 separate bus services each on a 15-20 minute interval schedule and taking less than 15 minutes to get right the centre of the area served, not around half a mile away where the station would be. This is a difficult question - I think it may be best to add details of each proposal first and then we can perhaps come up with criteria to narrow the list down if it becomes unweildy. Perhaps the confirmation of funding could be a criteria. Garuda3 (talk) 21:41, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Confirmed funding and spades in the ground. Otherwise we leave the door open for every local newspaper's latest space-filler. --Redrose64 🦌 (talk) 23:47, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
