Untitled[edit]

This article has been marked by User:PrincessofLlyr as spam. I am new radio controlled aircraft hobbiest would like to make a list of sites where people interested in the hobby of radio controlled planes can go to get parts to build planes or full plane kits. The objection lodged by User:PrincessofLlyr is that the page as it exists now is "unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company. How then are pages like the following acceptable? Please use the template on user talk pages only. Also, "return policy: 9 days, minus 15% restocking fee and shipping costs" is the issue. just list them out with general info.

For the record, I have no problem with the article if you provide more information. Right now, there's not a lot to work with. Unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about radio controlled airplanes, so I can't help a lot. You could make a list of the companies or add more information about this company, such as history, profits, etc. I will help with some of the formatting if I can, but I don't have any info about it or time to research. I will replace the csd tag with a work in progress tag. However, if the article is not significantly improved soon, I will tag it again for delete. Thank you for your offer to assist with the creation of the new page RC Aircraft Kit Manufacturers. For the record, you flagged the page for speedy deletion 48 minutes after its creation. Please give editors a little breathing room to flesh out the intended content. Thank you for pointing out the existence of the work in progress tag. I've added the beginnings of a comprehensive list of information about manufacturers. Please take a look & let me know if you agree that the content is acceptable. Looks great so far! I tried to fix the link to www.rc-airplane-world.com, but it doesn't seem to be linking properly. Not sure what's wrong with that. Comparison of merits of vendors[edit]

It's better not to basically. I can see why this article has been tagged for deletion etc. One problem is that wikipedia articles are not buying guides, Among the criteria useful in choosing a supplier of a kit is their post sales support, maybe but we are not allowed to state it. The article contains embedded links (also not allowed) that link direct to the company websites (free advertising/spam). There are actually wikipedia articles on some of these companies, HobbyZone is one that I found and is not linked in this article. Wikipedia is international, all these manufacturers appear to be from North America. 'Hanger 9' is spelt 'Hangar 9' BTW. If this article stays then it should be renamed to List of RC Aircraft Kit Manufacturers. RC articles have a hard time because no project supports them, a navbox template that I created had legitimate links to company articles chopped from it soon after creation so I gave up trying to sort it all out. To answer your question on List of online encyclopedias you can see that all the entries link to a wikipedia article and not the company websites. In each individual article the company website will probably be linked once only in the external links section (and sometimes in the infobox) which is accepted practise (see Encarta as an example). RTF vs, Kit[edit]

The title is: List of radio-controlled model aircraft kit manufacturers

But the introduction says: This is a list of notable companies that manufacture Ready To Fly and Almost Ready to Fly airplane kits.

As used in Model Aviation magazine, for example, a "kit" is a set of pieces, before anything is attached or assembled. I can see including ARFs as kits, as they require some assembly, but RTF and kit are opposites.
