"Baby Doll"[edit]

The article lists Astaire as having introduced the Mercer-Warren song "Baby Doll" for The Belle of New York, but Gene Kelly recorded the song earlier as an outttake for Take Me Out to the Ball Game (film) in 1948 or '49. Would it be accurate to credit Astaire as the introducer since, technically, he was the first person to sing it in a film and have that part kept in? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.52.28.30 (talk) 00:48, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It would. The person credited with introducing the song is that person who first introduced it to the public, either in a stage show, a motion picture, or a published commercial recording. D7240 (talk) 17:59, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
