Title[edit]

Bias and Libel[edit]

This page is grotesquely biased, with numerous assertions like "due to bullying" amounting to nothing more than allegations and speculations masquerading as facts.

Furthermore, the statement "Two girls, ages 14 and 12, encouraged others to fight Sedwick, and sent her electronic messages encouraging her to kill herself." amounts to LIBEL, given that the the younger was never even accused of doing so by the cops and given that no proof was ever found the older sent any such message (despite social media subpoenas producing thousands of pages). The libel is all the more egregious given that law enforcement never accused the girls of any wrongdoing AFTER Rebecca left school SEVEN MONTHS BEFORE her suicide -- thus blaming the children for the death assumes Rebecca killed herself over a conflict SEVEN MONTHS OLD with ZERO evidence that either girl was at all on her mind the day she killed herself (she was actually despondent over her online boyfriend cheating on her). The State Attorney refused to file charges against either girl and journalists reviewing the 300+ pages of investigative reports reported an astonishing lack of evidence of bullying coupled with presence numerous stress factors unrelated to peer bullying.

Gap[edit]

Why is there such a gap between the first entry and the second? That's 120 years. Surely some notable suicides that have been attributed to bullying occurred between 1877 and 1997. --Auric talk 14:46, 16 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suicide of Emilie Olsen[edit]

I was thinking that should there be an article regarding the Suicide of Emilie Olsen, there are a lot of references to news websites that discuss her suicide--Anonymous1941 (talk) 05:30, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion criteria and alphabetizing issues[edit]

This list has become a garbage list and needs clear inclusion criteria, per Wikipedia:Stand-alone lists#Common selection criteria: "Every entry meets the notability criteria for its own non-redirect article in the English Wikipedia." Each entry should be notable in its own right, and to prevent more misuse of the list (especially because of the very sensitive legal and BLP issues involved) we should require that each entry is notable enough for its own article, IOW notable enough that the article has survived the typical AfD attempts which many, if not most, new articles are subjected.

Misuse of redlinks places an unfair burden on editors here who are then required to double-check all the sources used. That isn't right. The burden for proving notability belongs to the one wishing to add an entry to the list, so let them create the article. If it becomes accepted, then they can add it to this list.

Potential vandalism on Tyler Long's section[edit]

I removed the part that claimed he was gay and suffered bullying because of that. The provided sources only mention his Asperger's Syndrome, and that he was called homophobic slurs, but no mention of him being gay. I googled it and could find no source that supports this claim. It's possible the editor made a mistake or a false assumption, but it's entirely possible that whoever added that had malicious intent Hipotecas (talk) 03:08, 17 June 2022 (UTC). [reply]
