City of Porirua Cadet unit[edit]
Formed in December 1984 , first independent Army cadet unit in New Zealand, ie never belonged as part of a school. Their unit patch is the lion rampant on a black diamond in a gold square. The lion relates back to the original West Coast Rifles formed in the area and the colors and shape of the patch to the first world war battalions. 122.56.176.156 (talk) 02:58, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
