Please make this usable[edit]

I have no idea how to work this website or I would do it myself. Will someone please remove the individual alphabetical categories so people can actually use this list? Having multiple categories completely breaks sorting and if everything is merged into one category then we can just sort alphabetically anyways so as far as I can tell having individual alphabetical categories is not only pointless, but actually destroys the usability of the page. I would love to be able to sort the entire list by year, for example. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.139.43.100 (talk) 16:30, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion criteria[edit]

I was not really sure what the inclusion criteria should be for this list. Obviously, it should include any video games based directly on films, sourced as such whenever possible. I am not sure if we should include games based on film franchises, because that could bloat the list considerably. I sometimes included these articles, and sometimes did not - I wish I had been a bit more consistent with that. I doubt I will have much more to do in maintaining this list, as it took about 6 weeks to build, much longer of a project than I thought it would take. Anyone who wants to do whatever with this list, have at it! But if people are interested, it might be a good idea to establish what sorts of games should and should not be included in this list. Maybe this list could do with another column and tell which franchises a game belong since not every James Bond game is directly supposed to be based on a film. But they're also probably plenty of games that are based on movies but all in the name such as the earliest Medal of Honour games as their products were a direct result of Saving Private Ryan. I think those type of games might variant an inclusion. While games that draw inspiration from films but are not based on any particular film shouldn't be included since they have in some cases become their own media franchise... and then there games like Mario that are based on Popeye but don't use the KFS license. There was a discussion that ended with consensus that Category:Films adapted into video games should be listified. Should its information be added here? - Purplewowies (talk) 04:30, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Possible additional list items[edit]

After this discussion, the following films which were in that category may be added to this list if reliable information about a video game based on it can be found:

I think some of them are in the list already, but for the others I agree that we will need evidence that a game was produced before adding. BOZ (talk) 13:58, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

List or category ? What's to be included?[edit]

There's also a Category:Video_games_based_on_films. Is it somehow coordinated with this list? It seems easy to think of games that are not in the list like, say, Running Man. Does the list aim at being complete? --2003:DE:2F4E:6732:89EC:542F:AD57:E1C9 (talk) 19:34, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
