Inclusion criteria?[edit]

What are the criteria for inclusion here? Only videos with their own articles, right? How about videos that link to an article about their creator where that article has substantial coverage of the video?

As I see it:

  • About a meme but not a specific video: Remove entry
  • No link: Remove entry (even if referenced)
  • External link only: Remove entry
  • Link to an article about the video: Keep entry
  • Link to an article about the creator or subject of the video that has substantial coverage of the video, i.e. at least one multi-sentence paragraph, preferably a section, with a reference supporting the description "viral": Maybe keep?
  • Link to an article about the creator or subject of the video that has minor, trivial or no coverage of the video: Remove entry
  • Link to an article with no direct and obvious relevance: Remove entry

It would be good to be completely clear about this so that we can remove bad entries more easily. --DanielRigal (talk) 11:58, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The inclusion criteria is similar to what is at List of Internet phenomena. We don't require the video to have its own article, only that there is at least one or more RSes - and specifically more mainstream RSes and not ones that cover Internet culture like Buzzfeed - that name the video as a viral video. obviously it should be a specific video and not just a meme that is in video form. --MASEM (t) 14:31, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Alphabet Lore[edit]

Should we add the video Alphabet Lore to this list? It IS a viral video. Ryanisgreat4444 (talk) 12:50, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a quality source that says its a viral video? We can't use sites like Know Your Meme for this. Masem (t) 13:08, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
