Split proposal[edit]

Complete re-organisation of the list for the US[edit]

I have seen that the section for the US is way incomplete and have decided to complete it. However, I then realized that it would be a long task to complete and one person will need a very long time to complete it.

Therefore I propose that I and 4 others voluntarily complete the list for cities 10 states each. I will do the first 10 states (I have completed the first four). Others who would be willing to do so here is the set for the other four volunteers:

Volunteer 1: Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland.

Volunteer 2: Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey.

Volunteer 3: New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina.

Volunteer 4: South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

If no one is willing then I am fine completing it fully on my own. However, anyone else who feels that I should do this on my sandbox then send it to here, please understand that the Galleries can't be copied and pasted, so I'm directly editing this article bit by bit. Potential solution to article problem[edit]

I have understood that the main problem with this article is the slow loading time due to the large number of images. While making articles which can be linked from this page, e.g. "Flags of US cities" article under the US section, is a long-term solution. I propose that we link the article to wikimedia articles of the flags as a short-term solution. Flag Mechanic (talk) 19:56, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

After taking a closer look, maybe it would be good to first know what the scope of this list actually is; apart from city flags, there are flags of villages, municipalities, basically any low level subdivision.
