Staticman[edit]

I did a websearch and looked at the official guiness book of world records website and could not find anything validating the claims of Staticman. I also went to the bookstore and went through the Guiness Book World Records 2007. I could not find anything validating the claims of a world record except for the Staticman website. Thus, I deleted the references to him.Balloonman 21:44, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Balloonman, I, António Santos aka staticman , brake the world guinness record of motionlessness in 1988, with the time of 15 hours , 2min, 55 seconds. That record was in guinness book until 1997, after that all my world records are not made for guinness, for economic reasons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Homem estatua (talkcontribs) 14:25, 16 November 2012 (UTC) Homem estatua (talk) 21:45, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Spammers[edit]

This page appears to attract a huge number. I put some warnings up and plan to check back on a regular basis. May 6 2010 CVishnia (talk) 21:43, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Link Removal[edit]

Please can the removal of my link be reconsidered? My website - The Living Statue Company - is a useful resource for aspiring and professional living statue performers. It has a detailed and thorough resource page - found here - and a wonderful video and picture gallery showing images that can't be found elsewhere on the web. I am regularly contacted for advice from performers around the world because of my site and I think it's a shame that my link has been discarded as spam. Please can it be readded? Not as "spam" but a commercial website. If a reputable publication, e.g. a trade journal, mainstream media, etc. has published documentation about your activities, you or any editor could cite that information under References or External links (for online content; include date of retrieval with the link). -- Deborahjay (talk) 10:47, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

add section on Human Canvas?[edit]

Being a Human Canvas has become popular, and is either related to, or similar to being a Living Statue.

It needs:

  • (at least) a section in this article. with references.

or

  • (if the right references can be found to establish notability) it's own article.

history as a busking form?[edit]

it is easy to remember back to when this was NOT a prevalent form of busking. I was disappointed that the history section did not have much history. Tableaux vivants being popular 500 years ago is not quite the same as saying they've been popular ever since. Anybody know who/when/where the busking pioneers of the latest wave got their start? Amanda Palmer is known to have done it in around 2000 in Boston and that's about when I started to see it, but I'm not sure if it was already old hat at that time. 71.190.240.122 (talk) 19:19, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
