Birth date[edit]

Although everywhere online says he was born in 1979 (IMDb says in London) I just looked him up on the biths index. The only Lizo Mzimba born between 1960 and 1980 is a Lizo Langa Mzimba, birth registered in Solihull in 19__. Unless it turns out he wasn't born in England then this must be him. Lizo (who is an old friend) contacted me to say that he doesn't want his year of birth published, due to concerns about identity theft. I've suggested that he logs it by email with the Foundation so that you don't have to take my word for it, but I've reverted the article for the time being. WP:DOB says in that case the normal procedure is to give only the year of birth, but Lizo's previous practice has been to publish only his birthday and omit the year. I suggest we agree and delete it out of the history, but I'll leave that decision to someone with more experience in BLP matters. I agree here and have made the necessary changes. The Foundation have received a request from the subject, logged under 2010080910007489. As a result of this request, which I firmly believe is in the spirit of WP:DOB, I have redacted all edits which include the birth year, and would ask that it not be added unless it's been discussed at length by the community. The subject has had many problems with identity fraud, and it has long been the policy of the BBC to not show his birth year. Any questions, drop me a note, but I won't be watchlisting this page. At time of writing, the =Lizo_Mzimba&oldid=83899574 Lizo Mzimba article only has four short paragraphs. It has a stub template so I classed it as a stub.
