GA Review[edit]

This looks to be of high standard on first pass, I'll make some checks on refs and so on, plus a few cosmetic style mods, before leaving further comments if necessary. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 08:27, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Having reviewed in detail and made some cosmetic changes, I believe this meets all the criteria - it's a pass, well done! Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 11:31, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Given the standard of writing and referencing, my main suggestion for improvements would be to develop articles for the red links you've left, however given your apparent interest in related topics, I daresay that's already on your agenda. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 11:39, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for passing it, yep redlinks are next on my list to fill out. Cheers - Dumelow (talk) 21:27, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Abolitionist[edit]

What does that mean in this context? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.63.88.111 (talk) 02:23, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The conventional meaning - he was in favour of the abolition of slavery. Feel free to clarify this in the lead if you like but I thought it was explicit enough already (the abolitionism page, which is linked, explains it) - Dumelow (talk) 10:02, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just passing by - I think it's fine as is given the word is linked and its usage here is the common meaning as given in the intro of the abolitionism article. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 10:16, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
