A fine start, but lacking an infobox and a satisfactory introduction. Please add a sentence or two to explicitly state the basics of the subject, e.g. "The DC-130 Hercules is a type of drone aircraft developed by the United States Air Force in X year and used extensively in X conflict." This article states, "The Q-2C Firebee target drone was modified for the recon mission and designated the BQM-34A or 147A." In the early sixties, the Q-2C was resignated BQM-34A - they're the same basic target drone. BTW, this was the Ryan model 124. The Ryan model 147A had a modified navigation system and increased fuel capacity, but was otherwise similar to the BQM-34A. It was the first step in development of the recon version of the Firebee under Project Firefly. The 147A and subsequent modifications thereof did not initially have official militiary designations, but years later the remaining versions in service were designated AQM-34 with suffix letters for the various sub-types, e.g., the 147H became the AQM-34N. Article Seriously Lacks Citations[edit]

Comparable Aircraft?[edit]

This article claims:

"Comparable aircraft Antonov An-12 Blackburn Beverley Transall C-160"

Have any of these been used as drone launch aircraft? I can see maybe the B-25 as some were modified to drop Q-2A target drones, the Navy P-2 Neptune for the same reason, even the B-52 and SR-71/A-11, but none of the listed aircraft - enlighten us! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.129.224.141 (talk) 15:47, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As of yet, none of those aircraft have been seen with drones, because they don't have the fuselage room or wing area for carriage of drones and associated command and control equipment. Jak474 (talk) 16:22, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
