New Book Provides Additional Information On Lookout Mountain Caverns[edit]

In April, 2007, the National Speleological Society published "Caves of Chattanooga" which was written by Larry E. Matthews. This book contains nine (9) chapters, with each chapter focusing on the history of a major cave in the greater Chattanooga area.

Chapter 1 ("Lookout Mountain Cave") is found on pages 13-30. It includes a history of the cave, old commercial cave brochures, old commercial cave postcards, a map of the cave, and several photographs. One photograph is the signature of President Andrew Jackson on the cave's wall.
