@Rookie28: I had agreed with your original statement about the somewhat complicated relationship between LOLE and LOLH, but modified your original text to read: (1) Frequently LOLE is specified in days, if the increment is an hour, not a day, a term loss of load hours (LOLH) is sometimes used. Since LOLE uses the daily peak value for the whole day, LOLH (that uses different peak values for each hour) cannot be obtained by simply multiplying LOLE by 24; although in practice the relationship is close to linear, the coefficient varies from network to network. Since then you have added the text (2) Be careful Misconcept: Different reliability indices are obtained using different load models. The LOLE index in hours is evaluated using hourly load values. The LOLE index in days is evaluated using daily load values. It is not valid to obtain the LOLE in hours by multiplying the days/year value by 24 just only, so there is a duplication of text in this short article. Please review (1) and (2) and let me know if the wording of (1) can be modified to include the additional information from (2).
