I have (generously? and/or foolishly?) posted this LOST SHIP OF THE DESERT page from notes given me by a coorespondent. I have not checked all the links. I do not have great experience with Wikipedia formatting, so any help and corrections will be greatly appreciated. RioRico 23:22, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Some stories say there may be more than one ship in the desert. others that there are none at all. Some of the stories are tall tales. Some of the stories are true. And some of the stories have yet to be told." -- tone? That whole paragraph does not sound like an Encyclopedia, especially the last sentence.

I'm hiding that whole list of references for right now. It looks helpful, but there's way too much, and I don't have time to pick out the most relevant ones. There are a lot of instances where the article says something like "people said" or "it is claimed"; these would be good spots to cite the reference list. kerowyn missed the point it was not a reference list it was a timeline of written versions of the stories showing the evolution and changes to the legend over a period of close to 200 yrs the legend is part oral tradition. if the story was little red riding hood would she expect a quote from the wolf? sadly my computer skills are poor i cannot retrieve the information she removed.

What's the deal with the long "media renditions" section? I totally don't understand it, but it feels wrong to remove a third of the article when I don't even understand the purpose of it ... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.251.135.45 (talk) 18:11, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
