Wasn't the General Wayne Inn one of the first buildings in Lower Merion? I just want to make sure this information is correct. There was also a murder there, and the building was in danger of being destroyed. Luffy 04:48, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm unsure about the history of the General Wayne Inn, but there was in fact a murder there and the building is in danger. I'm pretty sure no one is doing anything restore/maintaining it.

And also, is there any citations for all the residents living in Lower Merion? If not I'm going to revert it back to the older version. eventine 19:26, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A well intentioned, unregistered user added this to the article instead of to the talk page.[edit]

I reverted it from the article, so I am posting it here. Comment "Lets add Blake Robbins to the mix. Blake was the famous Harriton High 15 year old sophmore that was caught smoking in his room. He was discoverd smoking by the school issused apple labtops that were used for catching students behavoring improperly. He will probably end up wining the class action filed suit against the township and never have to work a day in his life."

I agree that this information should be in the article.

Lower Merion Township[edit]

Good question. I'm thinking of having this page moved to "Lower Merion, Pennsylvania", which is in line with other American city names on Wikipedia, which use "CITY NAME, STATE". Illegitimate Barrister (talk) 05:45, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania → Lower Merion, Pennsylvania – New name conforms to WP:USCITY formula of "CITY, STATE". Wikipedia's ~1.5k articles on PA townships are titled using the form Township, County, State, regardless of whether the township name is unique within the state, so to change the manner of titling for just one or two would produce an odd inconsistency within the class.   • Oppose. USPLACE says that we shouldn't move individual pages away from statewide naming conventions, so we need to keep the county name. Even worse would be removing "Township", because it would make this article appear to be about a city/borough/unincorporated community instead of a township. I am moving this page to LMT, PA based on how it is in the WP:USCITY, furthermore, balacynwyd,pa is an article, wynnewood,pa, merion, pa, etc. It makes no sense for the parent article to be subordinate. Sir Joseph (talk) 00:54, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Per Capita and National Income Ranking Claims[edit]

The township is a lovely and affluent place. Respectfully, the census data as of 2016 and today never support the articles income claims. 5th highest nationally (per capita) and 12th (household) for 50,000 plus or even when limited to 50,000 - 100,000 are outlandish.
