Why dies this wiki not mention the true history of lowrider bikes which were started by Mexican American kids? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.82.217.84 (talk) 02:54, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

expert attention needed[edit]

I'll be the first to admit I know nothing at all about low rider bicycles. I've tried to clean this up, but I'd like someone who knows the topic to check if it's still accurate. Also, is the proper form "low rider" or "lowrider"? --Alynna 22:49, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

on google did anything come up? --Maoririder 14:46, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Both terms appear, although if I google "low rider bicycle" I also get google asking me if i meant "lowrider bicycle". I've been unable to find a definition, though -- just ads and people describing in great detail how they decorated their bikes. --Alynna 15:25, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

raleigh choppers should have information.

++++++++++++++++++++++ There is absolutely nothing American about Schwinn. Is is a product of Communist China, manufactured by virtual slave labor and is distributed by American salespeople across the USA, predominantly Wal-Mart. Friends, Schwinn is a brand name, not a company, not a product and not a country.

See, for example, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A29737-2004Dec2.html.

++++++++++++++++++++++ Well at one point Schwinn's were produced in the US. And those are the ones that are most popular amongst the lowrider crowd. The new school K-Mart Schwinn's are not crackalackin' anymore.

any fan of the b-boys (that has little other association w/ the term) thinks of professor Booty when they hear this phrase. that's what it is. skizznologic3.3 05:28, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think its bogus how it says that lowriders are becoming a Mexican and Califoria thing. Im Mexican, But this makes me mad cuz I do have a Lowrider bike, but I want it to be known that I like the artsy appeal, not because im Mexican. Ice cube rides lowrider bikes all the time, but it dont say all rappers have them. And Its Lowrider, one word.

No mention of the history[edit]

Why is there no mention of the history of lowrider bikes? Started by Mexican American youth to emulate the lowrider cars seen in their neighborhoods. Sadly, we are never given credit for anything. Including this. Lowrider culture is Mexican American culture. Period. 76.82.217.84 (talk) 02:57, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
