Article meets DYK requirements, I didn't detect any close paraphrasing (the link that Earwigs detected is a Wikipedia mirror and copied from us rather than the other way around), and the hook is mentioned inline and verified. QPQ is still pending. Despite opposition among some DYK editors against "first" hooks, I don't think that's an issue here since the hook fact is very interesting in itself. My only concern with the hook is that readers who are less familiar with the NHL may have the impression that he is currently playing for an NHL team when in fact he's merely under contract to one but is still playing in a development league; if there was a way this could be addressed that would be great.
