Other events[edit]

I was raised around loggers' sports events, though not as a competitor and while I knew lots of people who sent to Hayward, I didn't even see their roster of events; but I'm more than familiar with those at the various big BC events (Sooke, Squamish, Mission, Hope, and the PNE in the old days, not sure where else has 'em now). I see this article only lists "sample events"......and Hayward's rules seem a bit diffrent than Canada's (the 15" touch-rate on the speed climb is more like 1.5m in Canadian descents....(ouch)). I'll try and find event listings/rules for the other events, and suggest that Loggers sports or Lumberjack sports be a separate article.Skookum1 (talk) 15:48, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the reviewer is correct about the 15" touch rule. At least it used to be much greater and they definitely hit the ground hard. check for a youtube video. see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MS6nR2p8WdY. Also These championships used to be covered by "ABC's Wide World of Sports" on the ABC television network in the u.s.
