There are some variations of this game, but it has been a long time since I have played so I have forgotten. Maybe somebody can help out? -- J.Dong820 (talk) 05:13, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I know there's a variant where all of the pieces are shuffled face down and placed on the board. On one's turn, there is the additional rule that one may flip over a face-down tile. The first player takes on the colour of the first tile flipped over. In this variant, landmines cannot move and just act as impassable spaces until an Engineer removes them, or until a bomb destroys them (sacrificing itself in the process). All three landmines must be removed before the enemy flag can be captured (by any piece). Bombs can, by the way, also destroy unflipped tiles, but this is very rare.Edderiofer (talk) 17:14, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

History?[edit]

I very much miss a history section here - e.g. clarifying that Luzhanqi is derived from Stratego in the 20th century, rather than the other way round.-- (talk) 18:57, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the relationships are known definitively. A lot of the bold assertions in this area probably ought to be removed. Slimy asparagus (talk) 09:23, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
