Coverage information for USA possibly wrong[edit]

The chapter "Coverage" states that Lycamobile only uses 4G/LTE and 2G in the United States while 3G is not available anymore. I don't have an objective source but I currently am in the US, using Lycamobile, and basically only have 3G or nothing, in different cities of both, California and Ohio. Fraud Allegations[edit]

The opening line of the article suggests that Lycamobile is being investigated worldwide for fraud. This is not true and the link provided is not to a reputable source - this link refers to a tabloid newspaper. Furthermore, the article mentions France and not any other country. Therefore it is not justified or evidenced based to suggest that Lycamobile is being investigated for fraud "worldwide". I have deleted the sentence as it is also possibly libelous.

Headquarters[edit]

Surely it should be one place - not a list of countries. Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 23:30, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Takes a long time for calls to go through - worldwide?[edit]

It usually takes a long time for calls to go through (non-RS sources 12) in the US. I wonder if this is a problem throughout Lycamobile. (Variously described as slow ring call-connection time, hesitation before it connects to ring, slow call completion....)

Ownership structure.[edit]

WWW Holding Company Limited (A UK company) does NOT own the Lycamobile companies that operate around the world. This has been wrongly suggested by Private Eye. Third rate references to rumour mill magazines such as private eye are not reliable sources of information. Each Lycamobile company is owned by the same 4 individual shareholders, but not a single Lycamobile company is a subsidiary of WWW Holding Company Limited, which is an older structure owning the Lycatel calling card companies. Lycamobile companies are privately owned by the same 4 inidividuals under an accountancy group. All the brands are licensed from their Madeira based company called Pettigo internacional Limitada. This is ALL public knowledge from accounts information.

Lycamobile in Russia[edit]

Hi. Lycamobile is in Russia, but it is not mentioned on this page. Why? Check it out https://www.lycamobile.ru/en/ --Bush2376 (talk) 7:44 am, 2 August 2019 (PDT)

Thanks. I've added Russia to the list of countries in the lead, using your link as a citation. --Dan Harkless (talk) 22:13, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

History and Founders[edit]

Could someone please include a section on the history and founders of Lycatel. Its a notable absence from this page. Mshara1 (talk) 22:46, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Actual name is Lyca Mobile[edit]

Branding and prose on their websites is "Lyca Mobile" for most countries. cagliost (talk) 10:57, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: not moved. More time needed to establish the new common name per namechanges. – robertsky (talk) 04:49, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

LycamobileLyca Mobile – Rebranded approximately 2023. I had raised this as a technical request but it was opposed on grounds of WP:COMMONNAME. I think this is actually a case of rebranding. "Lycamobile" was both the common and actual name until 2023, however new shop-fronts and online say "Lyca Mobile", i.e. "Lyca Mobile" is the new official and common name. Comment, WP:NAMECHANGES is the relevant policy regarding rebrands, still needs more evidence of a new common name. Note use as an official name doesn't automatically matter. These sources still use the existing name.[4][5], although I do believe it will shift, and would support it if it had a little more evidence for. Ofc, some of the company's social media hasn't updated yet.[6] DankJae 01:23, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Employment tribunal rulings[edit]

@Malice Scourge: about the three employment judgments. We can find rulings against many companies if we look for them. I assume the goal here is to show that Lyca UK are worse than average, but we can only report that if the assessment comes from a reliable third-party source. Demonstrating the nature of the company by cherry-picking case documents goes against the No original research policy. -- Wire723 (talk) 10:27, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
