@TrimmerinWiki: the reason why I tagged for OR were such statements as "with an explicit anti-Chinese bias, reflecting the racist attitudes of the time" and "it is apparent that there is another, less sensational, version of events". What you've written is almost certainly true, but I don't think it falls into SKYISBLUE territory. The sources used are PRIMARY, and the assessment appears to be your own.
