Hi there, just added a section about the thing with the alleged nationalist rôle of MIA. I hope it's neutral... It's way lengthy but I feel to non-Germans (and even those German but not knowing about this issue, like myself who up to now never saw more in them than "some pop band") it's interesting to know what the fuzz is about. Sorry, but your new paragraph misses the point most of these people protesting against MIA. were making. They were not so much concerned with the mention of the flag and its colors as with the general idea of referring to Germany in a positive way (for which the flag was only a medium), which they saw as revisionist. I deleted your paragraph, since its content did not seem to be of value to an article about MIA., but if there is an article on German anti-nationalism, let us link there. --64.9.61.230 16:40, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S.: The war in Iraq didn't have all that much to do with it. The protests against it were more of a trigger than something being actually used by MIA. or R.O.T. during their ANGEFANGEN-campaign.

Hmm... actually I guess you're right. After all this whole issue was kind of self-fuelled so maybe leaving it out totally is the best thing to do. Curious that I say that, but thanks for deleting! ;ö) Describing "the general idea of referring to Germany in a positive way" as the problem some people had with that song is very fitting, by the way ... hits the point.
