Importance[edit]

See the following programs for examples of emulators/simulators of the MIC-1 architecture (with assemblers for the microcode language as well as the IJVM language):

In my opinion, the existence of four (maybe more, not sure) MIC-1/IJVM emulators proves the importance of the topic. You can also search Google for "mic-1 ijvm" or similar, and you'll get 1000+ hits most of which are related to the topic.

Also, I'm sure you understand that Andrew Tanenbaum is an important personality in his field, and that his books are very widely used at universities in computer science courses -- which means that a lot of CS students worldwide are taught the MIC-1 microprogramming language and the IJVM language as the first assembly languages they encounter.

I'm sorry that i've left this article and the IJVM article in a poor state; unfortunately I don't own the book anymore, and I haven't touched the emulator I've written for ages, so I'd have to refresh my memory a little in order to write anything qualified.

Hopefully, I will expand both articles in the future, or someone else will.

I will leave the "importance" tag in the article for a few more days.
