Disambiguation[edit]

MILF goes way back, it has nothing to do with American Pie.

This should be a disambiguation page and include American Pie (movie) acronym. --Daniel C. Boyer 16:39, 18 Oct 2003 (UTC)

Should this be a redirect to Moro ILF?[edit]

Now this is a disambig between a major terrorist org and a softlink to wiktionary for a term from a movie, nevermind vulgarity. The latter is of the "redirects are cheap" variety and should only exist if there is no competition, but of course here there is. So I am answering, YES. - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 05:11, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not only have you ignored many conversations on various other talk pages, you've created a number of obvious problems for pages that link here. Do you really want those other pages out there to read, "Such and such 'actress' has appeared in a number of MILF films," MILF=Moro Islamic Liberation Front? Quite a movie no doubt. I suspect someone will come along shortly and revert your edit. If not, you should move the old content to MILF (disambiguation) and fix links on a few articles that you'd probably rather not look at. -MrFizyx 18:42, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To answer the original poster - yes it should. And to answer MrFizyx, I have done just what was suggested. I have created a new disambig page at MILF (disambiguation) to handle any links from MILF that do not refer to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. The reason for this change is two-fold. One, the slang term "MILF", aside from being completely unimportant, is a wiktionary link. It is not important enough to be featured on Wikipedia at all. Second, as for the Disney theme park, there is no evidence anywhere - even on that article - that the park is called "MILF". Even if it was, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front is of FAR greater significance. Godheval 04:49, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This should come back as a regular article. There is now a legitimate cite for the information in the form of a November 6 Village Voice column on the subject. It gives you evidence of increase in popularity and includes comments from Nina Hartley and includes the columnist observations[1]

being an porn-fan, I came to wikipedia to look for the origins of the term "Milf", and was surprised to find the page non-existent. I disagree with Godheval when he says that the term MILF is "not important". Just google for the term Milf and see how many hits you get, and look at how the term is being used in mainstream media as well. Rather than being unimportant, the popularity of the term MILF and MILF-movies reflect an interesting cultural/sexuological phenomenon, closely related to the increasing numbers of student/teacher sex-scandals in the U.S and popularity of series like "desperate housewives". the last few years. Numerous magazines and newspapers have been writing articles about this phenomenon, so I'd say it is rather odd that there is no page on MILF on Wikipedia. The Italian version of Wikipedia is more enlightened, and features the American Pie (Stiffler's Mom)version as an article: -

Why can't the American version be as open about such a topic?

Is this censorship by conservatively-minded family values lobbyists, we might ask?

No question about it, MILF ought to have its own article.Revan ltrl (talk) 19:44, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is This Appropriate Language[edit]

The "f" word seems a little strong here, to me. It's rude and inappropriate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.46.57.159 (talk) 06:23, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not censored. --Geniac (talk) 17:46, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Although Cluebot seems to be censoring it!. I have re-added the clarification text. Without it, the latter part of the disambiguation page doesn't make any sense. Buckethed (talk) 21:14, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

E!NEWS: Mrs. Sarah Palin just said, "No I'm not a MILF..." on television at the beginning, for a quick glimpse, of tonight's on E!News (Oct 17, 2008)! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.207.109.38 (talk) 02:15, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Porn or Moros[edit]

I've gone through the what links here on the page and redirected three links to [[Moro Islamic Liberation Front|MILF]]. Can I suggest that any future reader of this page whose concerned about people reading up on these Islamic insurgents and finding an explanation of the slang term, rather than try to censor Wikipedia, have another trawl and see if there are anymore articles that can be redirected the same way? I've left untouched a rather larger number of articles that are meant to point to the slang definition, hence I've changed the article to specify that as the main use of the term. "MILF" the human brain receptor?[edit]

Great spot, if it gets an article it definitely needs adding to the dab page, I'd add it now myself if I understood the subject well enough to know what the article would be called. ϢereSpielChequers 15:20, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:MILF (slang) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 01:16, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
