Venue and pre-match[edit]

  • "Qwest Field became the eighth stadium to host the MLS Cup and the first new stadium to host" - hold to avoid close reptition
    • hold sounds awkward, so I went with "chosen for"
  • Why was the articial turf criticized by multiple players?
    • Turf is generally not preferred by soccer players, and this is relatively common knowledge. The two sources I found for Qwest Field wrt the cup did not mention this directly, though, so it has to be omitted.

Road to the final[edit]

  • Delink United States and Canada since they are both major geographical regions
    • Done, though I don't think it's overkill here.
  • "The two teams were from Western Conference," - the Western Conference,
    • Fixed.

Los Angeles Galaxy[edit]

  • "to give the Galaxy a 2–0 win and place them in the MLS Cup final." - and a place in the MLS Cup final
    • Fixed.

Broadcasting[edit]

  • Wikilink ESPN360.com to ESPN3
    • Done.

Summary[edit]

  • "the weather at kickoff was cloudy and 45 °F (7 °C)." - and the ambient temperature was
    • Done, but "air temperature" is generally used here.
  • "who collided with Omar Gonzalez and Galaxy goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts. Ricketts broke his right hand" - Try not to have the last word of a sentence start the next one like this
    • Reordered.
  • "with a painkiller to alleviate a bruise right ankle" - bruised
    • Fixed.
  • "At halftime, the Galaxy lead 1–0" - led
    • Fixed.
  • "Landon Donovan missed his penalty, putting it over the goal despite his proficiency in penalties," - Despite his proficiency in penalties, Landon Donovan missed by putting it over the goalpost
    • Done.

Post-match[edit]

  • I believe it should be clarified that the praise reserved for the crowd and atomsphere was friendly or something along those lines
    • I don't believe that this can be supported by any sources, nor is it necessary.

Another well-written article on an MLS Cup. Not too much to nit pick here. MWright96 (talk) 15:51, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
