Still needs sources and improvement[edit]

This article survived AfD for no very clear reason. It is still effectively unsourced (one reference to its existence in a work of fiction). I tagged it for "wikification", and an editor added 3 links, one being for such a common word that I unlinked it. I've found and made several more links, but I wonder why the crowd of editors who came to defend it at AfD haven't yet provided any references, or even bothered to make the links I've just made which could improve it. Presumably some at least of them are experts in the subject area - I'm not, but have managed to, I believe, improve the article by making relevant links. I was born in Jerusalem, and I know this street pretty well. I live in the United States now, but I go back there often. I am planning on visiting Jerusalem in a few weeks. When I am there, if I get a chance to stop at the library in the area where I am staying, I will look for some information. The sources may be in Hebrew.   - Baruch Averbach —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.123.40.146 (talk) 20:54, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I just starting adding sources as promised. Baruch Averbach. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.22.54.38 (talk) 17:58, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

for some reason I am expected to put up with people making up new policies out of thin air and expecting me to comply with them[edit]

This is exasperating. At both AFDs the "keep" arguments were based on the idea that sources must exist somewhere, yet nobody, even users who read Hebrew, have been able to find them. And then I'm prevented from removing unsourced content by a user who made up a new policy on the spot that says unsourced information can't be removed during an AFD, which directly contradicts actual, written policy that says we can and should remove such content on sight. And now I've got a closing admin who insists that despite all that has gone before I should give yet another chance for sources to be found before pushing this any further.[1] I must have missed the discussion where it was decided that we could just make shit up and it was policy. But, ok, whatever, I'll play this little game. If sources are not found in the near future I plan to renominate this article and to cite that fact that the closing admin clearly went by head counting and not strength of argument, as they more or less admitted on their talk page. Having come from the RS noticeboard because of a query about maps raised there my opinion is that google map can be used here, but I see no point since the citation The Streets of Jerusalem: Who, What, Why already mentioned it. I see no indication of notability for the street and I believe the article should be deleted. Please see WP:GNG, significant coverage is required. Dmcq (talk) 18:31, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
One week from today it will have been a full thirty days since I started this thread. If no sources have been added that actually address notability, as opposed to merely verifying the existence of this street, I intend to renominate the article at that time.
