Obsolete[edit]

Modern map does not even has Ma Tau Chung as place name [1][2] The name is obselete and the Ma Tak Wai as place name , apparently shifted. Here is a journal article that partially covers the original locations of Ma Tau Chung and Ma Tau Wai.[3] Matthew hk (talk) 01:39, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the tessellation of the neighbourhood for census purpose (2011) or known as "Tertiary Planning Units".[4] May be it is gerrymandering but the alleged Sung Wong Toi Garden (see Talk:Sung Wong Toi Garden) or Sky Tower or the Church are all grouped to different "Tertiary Planning Units". And I just checked the map by Ling Kee (齡記)[5] (which is independent from the ip claimed "not reliable" Sino United Publishing, the parent company of Wan Li Book) it still does not have the place name Ma Tau Chung. Matthew hk (talk) 12:21, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pak Tai Street[edit]

Well, HK01 did use 6 Pak Tai Street, Ma Tau Chung, Kowloon City [1] in that news article. But at the same time Urban Renewal Authority use 113-121, 121A and 123, Pak Tai Street, Ma Tau Kok as the address for one of its project.[2] (while it did not show the full address of its project at 59-65 Pak Tai Street[3]) Since No. 113-121 is located at the end that near to the Sung Wong Toi Garden, so that once again secondary source did not have a concrete answer to the boundaries of the neighbourhoods. But at least Ma Tau Chung is not appeared in modern map and only zh-wiki have unsourced mention and WP:OR on the boundaries of alleged Ma Tau Chung neighbourhood. Or i am afraid it is the news reporter from HK01 (which its reputation is not that good) have a typo of copy the OR from zh-wiki, the address, 6 Pak Tai Street, Ma Tau Chung from HK01's news report, all other source indicated that it is To Kwa Wan.[4][5][6][7]
(No. 1 is southern end, No. 120+ is the Northern end. )

gwulo.com[edit]

gwulo.com is a WP:UGC. ie. not a reliable source as it accepts general public to upload snippet of map and historical photo as well as adding caption, and the site owner is not an academic so that there is no quality control or real academic judgement on uploaded content. So that wikipedia usually just reject all UGC site. Matthew hk (talk) 05:56, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

west of Ma Tau Kok and east of Ma Tau Wai[edit]

Well, the map inside the journal article,[1] and the 1866 map [2] seems not that supporting the statement that Ma Tau Chung is "west of Ma Tau Kok and east of Ma Tau Wai". Also, Ma Tau Wai indigenous village is not existed anymore and the current Ma Tau Wai Estate is not the original location of Ma Tau Wai the indigenous village. For modern day Ma Tau Kok, the area is obtained from land reclamation and demolition of Scared Hill. Lastly, as stated in above section, Ma Tau Chung is not appeared in modern day maps,[3][4][5] only Kowloon City, Ma Tau Kok, Ma Tau Wai, To Kwa Wan etc., appear in modern day maps.
