Birthplace[edit]

Magic Slim's website here refers to him having been born in Torrence, Mississippi. But, that place does not seem to exist, on Google or anywhere else. There are some references to a place called Torrance, having existed historically in Yalobusha County. Do we know if that was where he was, in fact, born? I have no more info than you. I just decided to lean along with the (very slight) majority of available sources and discard the non-otherwise-documented possibility. trespassers william (talk) 15:56, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Check this out!

Encyclopedia of the Blues (ed. Komara) impresses as more knowledgeable as it writes (p. 647)

That fits. The Torrance in Yalobusha County is near Grenada. I'll tweak the text a little. Thanks for finding those refs. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:08, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
