MahadevaMahadeva (disambiguation) – "Mahadeva" should be turned in a redirect to Shiva, and this article needs to be moved to Mahadeva (disambiguation). Shiva is the Primary term as:

  • Mahadeva is commonly understood as the most important epithet of Shiva
  • Shiva gets more 1 lakh page views, while other topics are not even above 250 veiws.
  • Most of the other topics are named after the god himself.

Support per wp:primary topic according to pageviews. ~ Aselestecharge-paritytime 11:06, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Screwed up. The metric used should be views from Mahadeva to Shiva instead. ~ Aselestecharge-paritytime 21:40, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Pageviews aren't comparable between Shiva and the other topics listed on the dab page as Mahadeva is only one among several major synonyms for that topic and the vast majority of readers do not search for him using this term. Clickstream data shows there's no primary topic with respect to usage: for the month of November, Shiva got 132 clicks, Mahadeva_(Buddhism) – 53, Taidi – 26, and Adi-Buddha – 21. – Uanfala (talk) 14:22, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Uanfala: Shiva is clearly the Primary topic, Mahadeva still has double number of clicks. I can give any reason to prove this, please ping me. .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 14:28, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, 245CMR, Shiva is the most sough after article among those listed in the dab page, but it doesn't have enough of a margin to be a primary topic. Of the total for the four articles listed above, it gets 57% of the clicks, but this number will go even lower if you include all the other articles from the dab page. Also, for comparison: the dab received 815 hits for the same period [1] (though this comes from a different dataset, so isn't directly comparable). – Uanfala (talk)
@Uanfala: But you can't deny the fact that most popular use of the word is Shiva, do a google search, most of the other things are named after him only .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 14:51, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've looked at the first 15 results of a Google Books search [2]. Discounting three results (one is a bibliography with several entries, one is a duplicate, and one is in a language other than English), there are 5 results where the use of "Mahadeva" in the visible text is consistent with a name of a deity (which is probably, though not necessarily Shiva), 5 results where the term is a person's name, and one each for a placename and the name of a species. Also noting that etymology, though sometimes indicative of cultural significance, is not directly relevant for deciding primary topics, especially given that Shiva, like other major Hindu deities, has dozens of epithets that have each also been used as names of people and other entities. – Uanfala (talk) 19:59, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Uanfala: the deity is clearly shiva, as he is just a very popular god, other people are named after him .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 03:21, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Eg, Christ is also a title still it is redirected to Jesus .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 03:43, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
