Agartala AirportMaharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur Airport – Procedural nomination per my talk page. I have no opinion. Courcelles (talk) 17:55, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose: There is only a proposal to change the name. There is no official change as yet. We can wait till be find sources of the official change, preferably in IATA database.  LeoFrank  Talk 03:55, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I can find no source for this being true (yet). Reported as a proposal this, which only suggest it would be named after them not this exact name. Chandrakant Sarkar should wait unit this happens and is official. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 09:28, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 19 April 2018[edit]

The airport is the second busiest in northeast region after Guwahati, not third. An Imphal enthusiast vandal is repeatedly manipulating these rankings and even stats on this page and Imphal Airport page. Also, the stats currently mentioned on this page are for fiscal 2016-17. Fiscal 2017-18 figures are yet to be released by AAI by the end of this month. I have better and official AAI sources for the present stats.[1][2][3] Please make the changes accordingly. References

Moving the page due to renaming[edit]

Union Cabinet approves renaming of Agartala Airport, Tripura as Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Kishore Airport. So the page should be renamed by moving the page. Chandrakant Sarkar (talk) 11:31, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Chandrakant Sarkar: Approval does not mean there is a change with immediate effect. As indicated earlier, you need to wait. Also, per WP:AVIMOS, it is preferred to have a smaller name as the title.  LeoFrank  Talk 13:58, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear after the approval of the rename the new sign board has been placed in the airport. As I am leaving in Agartala near to the airport. I can also send you the picture. Moreover our chief minister was there at the time of inauguration of the new sign board. You can see the fact in his Twitter handles. So it is my humble request to you please move the page. Chandrakant Sarkar (talk) 08:31, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming[edit]

Hi Leo Frank I don't know what is your problem. You are only doing disruption editing. After the rename of the Agartala Airport I don't know why you again & again changing my edit. Why are you so much interested to keeping the old name Agartala Airport even when it is being renamed yesterday by Prime Minister of India. And your are giving me threats of blocking me from editing. As I am living in Agartala so, I know the matter better than you which are related to Agartala. So the new name of our Airport is Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Kishore Airport. And for that the Wikipedia article regarding Agartala Airport should also be renamed. Kanta Deb (talk) 04:49, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Kanta Deb: Already responded on my talk page. I would also like to add that you cannot make demands here just because you like it. You along with Chandrakant Sarkar are adamant in moving the page from what it seems like ownership issues with the two of you.  LeoFrank  Talk 05:49, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Moving of the page[edit]

Someone please move this page to Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Kishore Airport. Chandrakant Sarkar (talk) 09:07, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 12 July 2018[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the page at this time, per the discussion below. Please note that we do not necessarily use official names for article titles, preferring the WP:COMMONNAME instead. If the airport is renamed, it should remain at the current title until the new name is reflected in reliable secondary sources, under the more responsive WP:NAMECHANGES. Agartala AirportMaharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Airport – Government has renamed the airport & Prime Minister of India himself declared it. Chandrakant Sarkar (talk) 12:02, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Chandrakant Sarkar (talk) 12:03, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Oppose: Firstly, no sources provided. Secondly, even if renamed officially, there will be a date from which it needs to be effective. No such attempt to prove this. But lastly, per IATA ( Search with location code = IXA), the name is still Agartala Airport. No official sources that the name change is effective immediately and the nom fails to prove the same. We'd rather wait instead of hurrying things up.  LeoFrank  Talk 13:14, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose and a WP:TROUT for trying to do this as a technical request. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:34, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support it has been actually renamed if any sorce is required you can find it in the Google. Times of India & many other reputable newspapers has written news articles which one can easily find in Google. Moreover Civil Aviation Minister Sri Suresh Prbhu will be visiting Agartala in the first week of August and than by doing a program he will be inaugurating the new renamed sign board of the Agartala Airport. So, until this happens we can at least wait for few days. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chandrakant Sarkar (talkcontribs) 15:09, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support The name of the Airport has been renamed & there are many news articles in Google regarding this matter. So the page should be moved as soon as possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kanta Deb (talkcontribs) 06:29, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: Three WP:MEATs or probable socks. Nevertheless these are SPAs. Please see this.  LeoFrank  Talk 06:56, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Yes,the page should be moved & should be renamed as because the Airport has been renamed after the king of Tripura who also donated his land for making the Agartala Airport. So the renaming of the airport is a big sentiment for the people of Tripura. So, Wikipedia authority should rename the page Agartala Airport to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Airport as soon as possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Omkar moon (talkcontribs) 15:59, 13 July 2018 (UTC) Omkar moon (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic. • Comment That the airport will be renamed is not in doubt. Is easy to find sources such as in The Hindu which is clearly a reliable source. What I cannot find is any indication as to when the new name is to take effect. Until the new name takes effect, the article should remain here. I suggest the new name be created as a redirect as it would be a likely search term. When the airport had its new name take effect, it can be moved then. --Whpq (talk) 22:02, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
