How is a transcription and translation of a image like the poems to be formatted here?

"Unerring is my hand tho' small, May I not add with truth, I do my best to please you all, Encourage then my Youth. THE AUTOMATON ???"

"Enfant chéri des dames, Je suis en tout pays, Fort bien avec les femmes, Même avec les maris. Ecrit par L'Automate de Maillardet."

"Darling lady, I am, throughout the country, Very good with ladies, And also with men. Written by Maillardet's Automaton."

Storage size calculation[edit]

In the referenced article in Byte Magazine the storage capacity is estimated very oddly. They treat the seven images as bitmaps whereas the data is stored on the cams as 3-dimensional vector graphics. A better measurement would be how many xyz triplets that are needed to convey the motion of the pen, and how many bits that are required in each dimension. The number of bits needed to resolve 0.5 mm within an area of 89x120 mm would be 7.5 (Y) and 7.9 (X). Maybe 3-4 bits are needed for Z motion, i.e. around 19 bits per point.

I have no way of estimating how many vectors are needed for the illustrations, though. Mumiemonstret (talk) 12:10, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
