Regarding India's North-East[edit]

Don't know if India's North-East is excluded form mainland India or not ... In the editorial of The Hindu I found the NE states being excluded from mainland India. Refer below link

Yes, with respect to north east india, the rest of india is referred to as mainland in many sources. ex: [A Face Apart: How does mainland India view the Northeast? https://thenortheasttoday.com/a-face-apart-how-does-mainland-india-view-the-northeast/] .
