I removed a statement that Malachim was used by Freemasons, as it had a {{citation needed}} tag and I had not come across it. Doing a google search, I then came across a page stating that Malachim is used to a limited extent in some of the higher degrees of Freemasonry (no references supplied). I'm still inclined to leave this statement out of the article until it can be substantiated; I think I'm erring towards saying less about any secret society if there's not supporting evidence, since a) they'd probably prefer to stay secretive and b) they're somewhat prone to having misinformation spread about them. Cornelius Agrippa certainly published the Malachim alphabet in his Libris Tres De Philosophia Occulta, but he probably did not invent it. He possibly learned of it from Trithemius, Agrippa's mentor and an author who treated on secret writings in his Stenographia. This is an area of research that serious scholars have not yet adequately studied. I lack the resources to undertake such a task myself. Editing article to credit Agrippa with publication (which is beyond dispute) rather than invention (which has not been established). 208.102.58.109 (talk) 18:59, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History - sources[edit]

Hey there, usual i dont write in the english project, so plz excuse my bad english. I was reading this article, especially the part about freemasons. When i check the source for this part i wonder why here a common homepage is used as a source? This website does not proof any connection form the lemma with freemasonary. Its only speculation and i would like to see it deleted. Greetings from Switzerland --Bogenmeister (talk) 08:50, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
