Taxonomy: For all marine species, Project Gastropods uses the taxonomy in the online database WoRMS. When starting a new article, do not use sources of taxonomic information that predate the 2017 revision for all gastropod groups ("Revised Classification, Nomenclator and Typification of Gastropod and Monoplacophoran Families" by Philippe Bouchet & Jean-Pierre Rocroi, Bernhard Hausdorf, Andrzej Kaim, Yasunori Kano, Alexander Nützel, Pavel Parkhaev, Michael Schrödl and Ellen E. Strong in Malacologia, 2017, 61(1–2): 1–526.) (can be dowloaded at Researchgate.net), substituting the previous classification of 2005 Taxonomy of the Gastropoda (Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005). Aurivirus = Haliotivirus?[edit]

It seems to me that what Savin et al. termed Haliotivirus has been officially included in the ICTV taxonomy as Aurivirus. Can I get any confirmation (and subsequent changes to Haliotivirus)? Thanks Bervin61 (talk) 21:17, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I can confirm this; see here. The currently accepted generic name is Aurivirus, but the species is still Haliotid herpesvirus 1. Ypna (talk) 09:27, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

One (well done) informatics paper isn't sufficient cause to start spamming your paper on how ITRs can cause integration, without evidence that such integrants can be part of a productive infection.
