Malik Meraj Khalid was Awan by caste.

Please, feel welcome to provide the verifiable sources (i.e. According to an acadeimic journal: International, Lance (1994). Indian Defence Review, Volume 9. Lancer International, Original from the University of Michigan. p. 111. "...Malik Meraj Khalid, a Kakkezai leader with land in and around the border village of Burki. Khalid was a founder-member of the Pakistan People's Party in 1967, won election to the National Assembly on the PPP ticket in 1970, and later served as Chief Minister of Punjab.") in order to adhere with the Wikipedia guidelines as I am afraid it is not enough that you know (or have known) the person or his relatives work with you - under the Wikipedia guidelines.
