Suggestions

Hi good start and some suggestions

  1. Title we normally use XXX Campaign Overland Campaign, Tunisian Campaign etc. Done
  2. The maps need captions and its impossible to read the writing with out expanding them They will be adding new maps, so I'm going to wait till then
  3. See WP:CITESHORT for references. Done
  4. We don't use Wikipedia as a reference (first ref in the background section) That was a mistake, I meant to create a link to a battle
  5. Needs more in line citations. At least one per paragraph for B Class and every point covered for GA and above. Done, I believe this has every point covered
  6. Also citations come after punctuation Done
  7. There is a lot of Alexander did this or did that - reads like he was by himself. Done
  8. The language used is very archaic and was to take upon itself the most difficult work, as was his wont. Fixed
  9. You Tube is not a reliable source Thats a video of a tour a guy took of Alexanders campaigns. I got rid of it and someone undid the deletion I did.
  10. Some clarification tags added.
  11. The ISBNS for Dodge, Theodore (1890). Alexander. New York: Da Capo Press. and Delbruck, Hans (1990). The History of the Art of War: Volume I need checking they are showing as incomplete. I'll look into it

I agree, good start. Seconding Jim's comments, plus:
  1. The Dodge and Arrian references need to be separated into individual references with more specific page numbers for each point, I'll adjust the referencing so you can drop the page numbers in.Done
  2. The images are a bit basic. I may convert them to SVG since they are quite simple.Yea, they are

I've set the references so they just need page numbers plugged in. I assume the google ebook links go to renderings of the specific pages in the URLs - sadly they don't give me the pages in the UK. (Hohum @) 17:21, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Copyeditor has comprehension problems

I don't understand the last two paragraphs of "First phase". He divided the army into three parts... so, was Craterus' force a fourth part? Was the force sent with Nearchus a fifth part? Or were those troops later re-organised into some of the other three parts? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:12, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

Cleitus the Black?

In the 'Second Phase' section it says: "When the infantry arrived, Alexander detached Perdiccas with the cavalry of Cleitus the Black and his own cavalry, and ordered him to surround another Mallian city to the south-east."

The Mallian campaign lasted from 326-325. Cleitus the Black died in 328, according to every extant source, killed by Alexander himself. This is a mistake. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.191.131.28 (talk) 22:28, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

Siege of the citadel : He was followed by only "two" soldiers

Hello,

First, I have never edited a wikipedia article, and I am not an english native so I thought it would be better if I ask here.

In the article, it is written that Alexander was followed by two soldiers (Peucestas and Leonnatus ?), but according to Theodore Dodge[1] he was followed by three soldiers : Peucestas, Leonnatus and Abreas (which died from an arrow in the forehead).

According this page, the source for the presence of Leonnatus and Abreas is Arrian, which is from my understanding the main source of Alexander's story, so I think the article should be updated to this version. What do you think about that ?
