Caught Up[edit]

There is a bass in Caught Up. Don't know if Tim Ward recorded it, but you can't say there isn't. Just hear the song. Im not gonna post it, but leave this comment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.147.35.226 (talk) 19:58, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ghostship part 6 info[edit]

For now I've left this in, but the fact that semi fiction used to be ghostship part 6 needs clarifying - one would assume that it will now no longer appear on Phantom on the horizon and is therefore no longer ghostship part 6, technically. A new part 6 will be written etc etc. Question is, does the fact that semi fiction used to be part 6 need mentioning in the article? its a trivia of sorts and the trend is now to not have trivia sections on wiki articles. I'm unsure if this info should remain therefore. Perhaps at a future date someone could write some info on the album and incorporate it into that. I may even try it myself, there is a new "blurb" type text on the official website I can use as a source for stuff. If anyone even watches this page; what do you think? Is this info worthy of inclusion? I'll need to go digging for when thom said it as well, to source it properly. Olliemilne 00:25, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why does it call their previous album an effort? I think someone should change it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iminrainbows (talkcontribs) 19:02, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Major rewrite[edit]

Ok, I just rewrote this page in quite a significant way. I would ask people to bear this in mind before they edit this:

  • Removal of trivia section: its now wiki policy to try and integrate trvia sections into the actual article, which is what i've done. Please don't add one again, if you have sourced info to add, try to fit it into the main body of the article.
  • Ghostship pt 6/Semi-fiction: I actually couldnt find where the band said this anywhere, so I've added a cite tag to it. I'm sure its true, but please dont remove the tag before you find where the band said this.
  • Gerald Ford quote: This isn't actually Ford speaking, its George W. Bush talking about Gerald Ford and his anger at the situation. The source I have is a transcript of that speech and its clearly true. Please don't edit this, I know Bush is way less fashionable to have in your song, but this it the truth. To those wanting to hear the quote, put all the sound to come out of the right speaker at the indicated timestamp.
  • General tone of article/information contained on it: some of the style of writing of this page has been "un-encyclopedic" - just a fancy word for not very good. People were using words like "it'll", which you wouldn't really expect to see in an encyclopedia, its too formal. Also, some of the info people were adding wasn't really related to the article - the fact that some girl sang with them live, but they didn't know if they sang on the album. Its clear she didn't, Tom would have said when he apologised about nouela being excluded. Also, if you don't know something, don't add it!

So, please think before editing the page, and if you have something to ask, post it here! thanks. Olliemilne 20:40, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tracklisting[edit]

I don't own the CD as of yet, but can someone confirm what the correct track titles are for "Oh, the Casino!", "A Man A Plan A Canal Panama" and "Shhh!!! If You're Quiet I'll Show You a Dinosaur"? There's been several variations circulating the net and no one seems to get them right. If anyone owns the CD, a confirmation of the CORRECT listing for this page would be cool. Vanishdoom 04:01, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As in, how they're punctuated? I have the CD right in front of me as I type this, and they are; "Oh! The Casino!?" A Man a Plan a Canal Panama" and "Shhh!!! If You're quiet, I'll show you a dinosaur". All the capitalisation and punctuation there is EXACTLY how it appears on the back of the CD. "Problem!?" is also easy to get confused because or the order of the !?. That's how they're typed, so we'll have to assume those are the correct titles (even if they're not the correct way to capitalise things), not what the IDv1/2 or CDDB says. Those are just typed in by people who probably weren't paying exact attention; these are how they appear on the CD cover. Hope this helps. Olliemilne 05:34, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That helps a lot - extremely appreciated. Vanishdoom 06:50, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More edits[edit]

Ok, I've edited the article again. I've added some quotes from the band regarding the "pop" influences on the album (they're clearly there, I just needed a source), expanded the members section (now renamed "credits" like on several other pages I looked at), expanded where it was recorded, etc. I recently requested an assessment of the page and it was rated as start class (this was prior to this edit however), which was good because its now no longer a stub. Ideally I'd like to get the page to B class, which is as far as it can be realistically taken I think (at least without help from someone who has experience with GA class). Things I want to do next include discussing the other influences apparent on the album (the heavier second half of the album for example) and then make sure the whole article sticks to all relevant wiki guidelines (boring ¬_¬). If anyone else has any suggestions for things to add (and doesn't feel up to writing it themselves) then add it here and someone (probably me, I appear to be the most active editor for this page) will consider it. Comments on the most recent edit are appreciated also. Thank you! Olliemilne 09:36, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bonus CD[edit]

It comes with a bonus cd, yeah, but on my bonus CD the track listing is on the cd itself, and they seem to be wrong. I know a couple of the song titles are switched around I was just wondering if anyone knew why.

It's just a mistake, they put the printed tracklist in the wrong order compared to the actual playing order. I'll add a note on the main article that they got it wrong. The version currently on the page is how the CD actually plays, and the disc's listing has the first 2 tracks switched with the last 2. Olliemilne 12:56, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Fotmanipulator.jpg[edit]

Image:Fotmanipulator.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

A Man a Plan A Canal Panama[edit]

In the article it says that A Man a Plan a Canal Panama is a reference to Teddy Roosevelt's involvement with the panama canal, when it is actually the first and last words to the worlds longest palindrome by Peter Norvig. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.201.57.22 (talk) 20:35, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
