NG?[edit]

Is NG some sort of pseudonym the court used to protect identity, or is that an actual naming convention in Spain? I'm wondering because maybe we should explain in the lede? --valereee (talk) 12:14, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The sources do not make clear. I have asked Spanish speakers about it and they don't think it is a shortened form of name unknown. It is likely initials for last names accessed by researchers that have been closed since 2007. It isn't a last name. The sources alternate between "María Helena" and "María Helena NG". --LauraHale (talk) 16:22, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
LauraHale, hm...so there's probably not much we can do about it. Oh, well! Nice article, btw! I enjoy the kind of light copyediting I did, so if you have other articles you're considering moving to main space, I'd be happy to do the same. I know how hard it is to proofread an article you've been working on forever; your brain just doesn't even see these little details any more. :) Just ping me. --valereee (talk) 17:34, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Valereee:, I saw and appreciate the copyediting. :) The problem I have is I know my articles tend to be full of slightly off wording, typos, occasional letter swapping and the odd spelling error. I try to work on them to try to minimize before main spacing, but I miss a lot of them... and I didn't really do any substantial writing for about two years. Ooops. So yeah, any copyediting appreciated. :) The only thing I am working on in my user space at the moment is User:LauraHale/Baños Orientales, which I need to find more information about as it relates to why it matters inside all the historical memory projects about women and lesbians that mention it. There is a lesbian women edit-a-thon coming up in Madrid on Friday, and I'll probably be the only one writing in English. If I do more between now and Saturday, it will probably be in that thematic area. *babbling* --LauraHale (talk) 17:45, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
