[edit] Main article: Town Hall with President Clinton

President Bill Clinton On November 8, 1999, Scarpa produced and directed the first presidential Webcast with President Bill Clinton for the Excite@Home Network in partnership with the Democratic Leadership Council.

On June 5, 1998, I produced a webcast with President Bill Clinton for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology 1998 Commencement. I was contacted by the White House to produce the webcast. I believe that this was the first presidential webcast.

"It's transforming the way we live. The typical American home now has much more -- as much computing power as all of MIT did in the year most of the seniors here were born. It is transforming the way we communicate. On any business day, more than 30 times as many messages are delivered by e-mail as by the postal service. And today, this ceremony is being carried live on the Internet so that people all over the world can join in."

Ho, Clinton to Address Graduates at Largest Commencement Ever[edit]

http://tech.mit.edu/V118/N27/commencement.27n.html "Live broadcasts of the commencement ceremony are available via the World Wide Web, over MITcable, and via WMBR radio. WCVB-TV (Channel 5), New England Cable News, C-SPAN, and Media One's Cambridge Cable system will also provide live coverage of Clinton's speech. As of noon Thursday, over 120 members of the local press were scheduled to attend the event in addition to the White House press corps."
